A review of Optionshouse for the 2011 Barron's review gave them an overall rating of 4 stars. Rated "Best for options traders". Their platform was updated last March. Although it is browser based it performs like a downloadable program. The program offers several layouts and tools one can modify to fit their own needs. They offer an options-centric platform. The platform consists of several professional level tools that are from market-maker parent, Peak6. Some of the reports that are included with the tools are “conditional orders, informative streaming-options chains and portfolio performance reports” (Barron’s 2011). A customer can pay $150 a month to receive individualized coaching based on your personal experience. OptionsHouse differs from other brokers in that they offer a single platform. The platform is so interchangeable that the desktop of other traders can all have different looks. Some pros and cons listed by Barron's were:  Pros: Rates are very reasonable, highly flexible, streaming data along with a customized platform. Cons: OptionsHouse has no futures or international trading.

OptionsHouse went live in 2005 and they have a 4 star rating from Barron's in 2011. They were founded by Peak6 Investments, a liquidity provider to the options market. They likewise have a Virtual Trading Platform, where one can buy stocks and options without needing to risk their own funds. This broker has been identified for everyone including professionals and novices. OptionsHouse is member of Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC).

Stock trading platforms can make or break a brokerage, you could have the most affordable costs on the book however, if it requires an additional 30 seconds to generate a trade then it's not really worthwhile. Buying and selling stocks can be a difficult and perhaps rewarding opportunity for people who are well-informed and familiar with trading. Trading stock and options with an online stock broker can be a lucrative opportunity for the well-educated and informed individual to increase their potential profit.

Opening an account is a simple process and is accomplished in a reasonable amount of time. You'll be able to fund your broker account numerous ways such as personal or cashiers check, online ACH transfer from your bank, ACAT transfer, or a wire transfer. You only need an opening account balance of $1,000 and you're all set to invest with a highly reviewed platform.

OptionsHouse comes with a streamlined platform and virtual stock exchange in which the tools can be used. They provide a complete trading platform and have numerous professional tools and resources available to assist the more knowledgeable investors. The mobile trading platform is particularly of importance to professional traders that need to make trades and view their portfolios using their Blackberry, iPhone, or Droid phone. Trading tools are an essential thing to consider simply because they can provide you with more versatility when generating transactions and provide increased guidance for a trader.

Tools offered include volatility charts, options list, streaming charts and news, a probability calculator and a number of options specific tools aimed at that type of investor. In combination with utilizing the fundamental investment tools and research, many investors discover when they have access to live help and support their chances for success increase dramatically. OptionsHouse delivers a variety of tools which can help one to find buying and selling opportunities.

Let's skip straight to the likes of the platform since in the trading world "Time is money" and the amount of time you spend reading this can be better used trading. For the platform that Optionhouse gives their trader to view all their current stocks or contracts to monitor, there is fundamentally nothing wrong with the platform. In fact, I would even go as far as to say that it is easy to view everything in a glace, if you have set the platform up correctly. The thing that I will compare when I'm using a trading platform will be the speed of trades that are executed. I cannot stress how important this is, as even a few seconds delay in trading might mean a difference of either a profit or a loss. So far, I'm very impressed at the lack of delays or slowdown in speeds, which is quite expected during heavy trading times on other platforms. Some trading "Gurus" have mentioned that keeping things simple, is actually the key to earning money from the market. From my trading years I have found that many people tend to over complicate things on their platforms. The great thing about Optionhouse is that you are not losing any tools you might need to use, but at the same time the tabs keep everything in a very clear and organized manner. Even when you want to bring up other tools like the stock screener to look for other stocks that are showing signs of profit, you will not lose track of your current stocks if you overlay them on top of your search.
